Decisions being made right now — in Johor, in Jakarta, in Singapore — will determine how Asia’s data centres are powered for the next twenty years. Those decisions are being made quickly, with limited public scrutiny, and with very few independent voices at the table.
We are trying to be one of them.
What your support funds
CAAICE runs on a simple model: we research questions that matter, and we publish the answers where anyone can read them. No paywall, no subscription, no sponsored conclusions.
Your gift funds:
- Original research into power procurement rules, cross-border renewable trade and grid access across Southeast Asia
- Public education that translates technical energy policy into terms families, journalists and local officials can use
- Cross-regional dialogue connecting policymakers and researchers across California and Asia

Make a gift
Online giving is being set up. In the meantime, please write to [email protected] and we will send you everything you need, including a receipt for your records.
Give in a child’s name
Through our Climate Baby program, you can make a gift in a child’s name. We will send a Growth Map placing that child’s milestones alongside the milestones of Asia’s energy transition — a reminder of what these decisions are actually about.
